Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) is a New Zealand international development agency. It provides opportunities for New Zealanders to live alongside, learn from and share skills and ideas with people in developing countries.
VSA believes that the development assistance works best when partner organisations decide their own goals and the type of assistance required to achieve them. VSA provides people, not money – volunteers whose personal and professional skills can be used by partner organisations to bring about positive change.
VSA is a non-profit organisation with no political or religious ties. It is funded through the New Zealand government's overseas development assistance (managed by NZAID) and through the generous contributions of members and donors.
VSA started operations in Bhutan in 1985 and it currently have 5 volunteers in country.
